Our Story
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, college students across the country faced more than just academic challenges. They experienced a collective grief that shook their sense of security, purpose, and connection. From pandemic-related deaths to racial injustice, today’s students are burdened with immense loss and suffering. Yet, alongside this grief, many have felt an undeniable call to action—a deep desire to fight for justice, even as they wrestle with their personal pain.
Grief Alchemy™ was born from this profound need. We recognized that, while students are passionate about creating social change, they need tools to sustain their efforts in the face of emotional exhaustion. Without proper support, many risk burnout and disconnection, not only from activism but also from themselves.
Why Grief Alchemy™?
Redefining grief
Grief isn’t only about past or present losses—it’s also about the fear of future loss. We fight to protect what we don’t want to lose, to prevent the grief we hope to avoid. Whether in product design, AI engineering, journalism, architecture, or beyond, this fear shapes how you choose to make a difference. By redefining grief to include fear of future losses, Grief Alchemy™ helps you understand how grief, fear, and trauma inform your work. This deeper awareness empowers you to act with clarity, transforming grief into a tool for meaningful change.
Uncovering hidden grief in activism
Activism is often born from grief—grief over injustice, loss, and the pain of others. But when grief isn’t addressed, it can turn into burnout, frustration, and disconnection. Grief Alchemy™ helps you recognize and process your grief so it doesn’t consume you. Instead, it becomes the fuel for sustainable activism that transforms not only the world but also yourself.
Resisting Without Burning Out
It’s easy to fall into reactive resistance—fighting without a clear vision, fueled by anger and frustration. But that approach doesn’t last. Grief Alchemy™ teaches emotional regulation and helps you tap into your power in ways that heal rather than harm. By re-imagining how you resist, you can build new structures for justice that are stronger, healthier, and more inclusive.
Escaping Perfectionism
The pressure to be perfect—both academically and socially—can leave you feeling inadequate and burnt out. Grief Alchemy™ shows you that perfectionism isn’t the answer. Instead, we help you set realistic goals that align with your values, freeing you from the weight of unreasonable expectations. You’ll learn that real growth comes from embracing your imperfections and staying true to your core beliefs.
